GNIOT Group of Institutions is situated in the modern city of Greater Noida which is home to leading MNCs. Ranked 3rd among the top private institutes in North India, Greater Noida Institute of Technology is known for its academic excellence in the field of Management Education. It also provides a wide range of courses in other disciplines, including Engineering, Computer Applications, Pharmacy, and so on. Rashtriya Shiksha Gaurav Puraskar Ceremony 2019 has labelled the institute as the ‘Best Management Institute in North India for Industry Interface’.
Greater Noida Institute of Technology offers excellent infrastructure, hostel facilities, and medical support, which have been well-regarded by the GNIOT students on Quora. Proper commute facilities are available for students and teachers across the Delhi NCR region. Although the GNIOT faculty are well trained and always at the forefront to help students with their doubts, its teacher-to-student ratio is 1:60, which indicates more teachers need to be appointed to ensure that each student gets proper, undivided attention. The university mandates students to wear college uniforms as per the institute norms and follows stringent rules to ensure the same is maintained. The university’s official website states a placement record of 93% for the academic year 2023-24.
GNIOT NIRF Ranking
GNIOT Group of Institutions (GNIOT) did not receive any NIRF ranking in 2023 despite submitting its data for 2023 rankings. However, for reference and to know where GNIOT stands in terms of ranking, aspirants can refer to GNIOT rankings given by various publications and organizations:
The institute holds the National Education Excellence Award in the National Business Summit & Awards
GNIOT has been ranked 36th and 'A+' Category in the B-School Survey 2019 by Chronicle (All India B-School Survey)
The institute holds the CSR Excellence in Education Award
Jagran Josh ranks GNIOT among the Top Private Institutes in North India 2019 (Engineering)
GNIOT was ranked ninth among the best institutions in Delhi/NCR by The Week in 2021
Our Take
Considering the various GNIOT rankings above, we can say that it is still an emerging college and its management has a lot of work to do in order to earn a place among the top colleges of India. One reason that Greater Noida Institute of Technology might not have made it to the NIRF rankings is that the rankings are based on a specific set of parameters and weightage. These parameters include teaching, learning and resources, research and professional practice, graduation outcomes, outreach and inclusivity, and peer perception. To secure a position in the NIRF rankings, GNIOT needs to perform well in one or more of these parameters. However, it is important to note that the NIRF rankings are just one tool to evaluate colleges and universities, and should not be the sole factor in making decisions about higher education. Prospective students should also consider other factors, such as faculty, curriculum, facilities, location, and career prospects.
GNIOT Academia & Batch Size
GNIOT offers various undergraduate, postgraduate, and dual degree courses like B.Tech, MBA, PGDM, BBA, BCA, B.Com, MCA, and BBA+MBA. Marketing, OB & HRM, Finance, Logistics & Supply Chain Management, IT & Business Analytics, and International Business are all available as dual specializations. In 2023, GIMS added a speciality in 'New Age Startups & Entrepreneurship,' which will walk students through the whole process of starting a business from scratch. GNIOT operates on a semester structure, which serves as an excellent technique to explore and learn systemically instead of studying the whole syllabus for yearly exams.
Our Take
GNIOT semester system eases the student's study load and allows them to focus more on courses while staying up to date and preparing for tests every six months. Studying for a yearly exam with a large curriculum may be daunting and time-consuming. The university added new courses on ‘New Age Startups and Entrepreneurship’, which showcase that the college keeps up with the latest trends in academics and the demand of students.

Our Take
Talking about GNIOT infrastructure and facilities, we would like to say that the institute is doing a good job! Without any doubt, the GNIOT offers superb living and studying space for students. There are proper hostels, a library, and modern classrooms available.
There is 24-hour security on campus with CCTV cameras installed. Students, instructors, and employees living in the NCR region, such as Vizag, Noida, and Ghaziabad, are given assistance with transportation, which solves the commute problem. The university offers medical facilities too.
GNIOT has an agreement with a nearby hospital (approximately 1 km distant from the campus) for both OPD and hospitalization services.
During an emergency, the college ambulance transports the ill person to the hospital. To address medical emergencies, the college also has a doctor-on-call facility and an ambulance that is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
However, some students have complained that the wifi doesn't work properly, which may be slightly inconvenient.
Students planning to take hostel accommodation may reconsider their decision as the fees are very high.
GNIOT Internships and Placements
GNIOT Internship
GNIOT does offer quite a few internship opportunities. According to the GNIOT official website, there are Summer Internship programmes conducted especially for the MBA batch which is a good initiative to offer insights about the real world, job scenarios, and ground-level field knowledge.
GNIOT Placements Statistics of UG Course
As per the data submitted by GNIOT for NIRF Ranking 2023, the GNIOT placement trends for the last three years indicate that not all students got placed as the university claims. Around 76% of students were placed between 2019 and 2021 and around 71% of students were placed in 2022, which is an average record but there is a lot of scope for GNIOT Greater Noida placements .
Year | No. of students graduating | No. of students placed | No. of students selected for Higher Studies | Placement Percentage |
---|---|---|---|---|
2019-20 | 778 | 560 | 42 | 76% |
2020-21 | 563 | 394 | 45 | 76% |
2021-22 | 470 | 312 | 36 | 71% |
GNIOT Placements Statistics of PG Course
There has been a steep decline in the GNIOT placement percentage of Postgraduate students as compared to 2021 and 2022 record. The placements have dropped from 97% to 24% which is poor and the university needs to work on its shortcomings.
Year | No. of students graduating | No. of students placed | No. of students selected for Higher Studies | Placement Percentage |
---|---|---|---|---|
2019-20 | 81 | 48 | 9 | 66% |
2020-21 | 41 | 38 | 3 | 97% |
2021-22 | 96 | 23 | 2 | 24% |
Our Take
The university claims to offer 93% placements. As per the student's review shared on Quora, the university contacts several firms for placements, but just a handful are excellent recruiters who offer jobs. To gain a job in a global corporation, 90% of the procedure is determined by the college, while 10% is determined by the student's IQ, grades, and attendance. If we look at the placements record, students are correct to state the college offers below-average placements, especially for PG courses, and lacks proper management.
Only a handful of students can secure internships provided they fulfil the conditions as per the alumni reviews on Quora. The university must work actively in training students before placements and bring top-notch recruiters to the university who will offer lucrative salary packages.
GNIOT Diversity & Representation
According to the data submitted by GNIOT for National Institutional Ranking Framework 2023, the institute has mixed male-female faculty and students. The male-to-female ratio considering UG and PG course strength is 2006: 327, which is a significantly poor ratio and indicates a major gender disparity.
GNIOT Male and Female Seat Intake
Course | Gender | Student |
---|---|---|
Undergraduate | Male | 1860 |
Female | 265 | |
Postgraduate | Male | 146 |
Female | 62 |
GNIOT State and Within-State Intake
State | UG Courses | PG Courses |
---|---|---|
Within State (Including male & female) | 969 | 12 |
Outside State (Including male & female | 1156 | 196 |
Our Take
GNIOT showcased a major disparity between male and female students. There is a huge gap in the number of female students applying for admission at GNIOT. The possible reasons could be female students opting out of core Engineering and Management studies and going for the Humanities stream in other colleges. Another reason could be female students reluctant to travel the distance as the college is located a few kilometres from the main city.
Considering the within-state and outside-state GNIOT seat intake, for undergraduate courses, more students were taken from outside the state which indicates that the college does have a name outside of Noida and Delhi NCR and attracts students from miles across. Coming to postgraduate courses, the data displays the majority of seats were filled from within the state only. One reason for this could be that students prefer to pursue a higher degree from the same college/university they graduated from. The familiarity with the faculty and teaching methods encourages them to apply for PG courses in colleges within the home state.
GNIOT Faculty/ College Administration & Management
There are 400+ faculty at GNIOT. According to the reviews shared by students, there are more than four faculty members in each department, so if a student does not grasp a subject from their assigned faculty person, they can seek clarification from others. The university’s faculty-to-student ratio is 60:1, which is very low; the institute should hire more teachers. As stated by GNIOT Alumni, the teaching style of the faculty is excellent; they explain each topic thoroughly and have a cheerful demeanour, so students are automatically encouraged and comfortable asking questions. This is a major advantage of GNIOT, as having a well-educated faculty is the backbone of any institute and it ensures students are in the right hands and are receiving proper education.
Our Take
Reviews shared by students on various platforms indicate that the GIOT faculty is doing great work and is at the forefront in guiding students and also focusing on providing practical training. However, some students also reported that GNIOT management is money-minded and always looks for ways to empty the pockets of students in the name of poor attendance fees, class bunk fees, and registration fees.
GNIOT Location
Greater Noida Institute of Technology is located at Plot No. 7, Knowledge Park II, Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh 201310. GNIOT is built across several acres of land in Greater Noida, which has recently developed as an integrated industrial complex in the state of Uttar Pradesh. Greater Noida is around 25 kilometres from Delhi and is situated in the National Capital Region (NCR). All sorts of facilities from medical, grocery, and departmental stores are in close proximity to GNIOT, making the lives of the students easy. They need not travel miles for basic amenities. Commuting is further made easy by the excellent metro and bus networks, which connect students to the larger Delhi-NCR region including Gurgaon, Firozabad, and Ghaziabad. Home to several MNCs and Tech firms, there are plenty of opportunities to find jobs in Greater Noida.
Our Take
Overall GNIOT is located in a prime location near the capital of India, Delhi. Greater Noida is a good city to live and study in as it is properly developed with no commute problems, and has various stores, malls, and parks.
Expectation vs Reality CollegeDekho Verdict
Greater Noida Institute of Technology Engineering Institute has both plus points and minus points. The university spends a hefty amount of money in maintaining its infrastructure and they do get 4 stars for their proper dorms, and other facilities provided. However, GNIOT lacks on many other levels as its placement records have declined over the years and many of its students have mentioned their disappointment about GNIOT placements on Quora. Studying at GNIOT can be expensive for those who are likely to attract additional charges or penalties for delaying the library book and not maintaining attendance properly.
