About AP SET 2024

The AP SET 2024 result was released on May 24 along with the scorecard and cutoff marks. TheAP SET answer key 2024 was released on May 1, 2024, on the official website and candidates who appeared for the AP SET exam can also object against the AP SET provisional answer key till May 3, 2024 (4 PM). AP SET 2024 exam was conducted on April 28, 2024. 

Andhra University is responsible for organizing the Andhra Pradesh State Eligibility Test (AP SET) exam to determine candidates' eligibility for the post of Lecturer/ Assistant Professor in degree colleges and universities across the state. Via AP SET, the eligibility of the candidates is determined for the promotions of Assistant Professors/ Lecturers in colleges across the state. Every year, Andhra University conducts the AP SET exam on behalf of APSCHE. Earlier, AP SET was conducted once every two years. In 2018, a decision was taken to conduct AP SET every year.

AP SET is purely conducted as per the guidelines of UGC and NET (National Eligibility Test) and the test conducting authority for the same is NTA (National Testing Agency). The exam pattern of AP SET was changed in 2018, and the new exam pattern will be continued for subsequent editions of the AP SET exam. AP SET Exam Pattern 2024

The AP SET exam is divided into two parts: Paper 1 and Paper 2. Paper 1 comprises 50 questions, while Paper 2 comprises 100 questions. The AP SET exam pattern will include subjects such as English, Anthropology, Economics, History, Political Science, Telugu, etc.

  • Paper 1 (General Studies) covers subjects including Teaching & Research Aptitude, Reasoning, Communication, and Higher Education.
  • Paper 2 (Subject-Specific) will be conducted for the subject chosen by the candidate from 30 available options.
  • The time duration for Paper 1 is 1 hour.
  • The time duration for Paper 2 is 2 hours.
  • Both papers consist of objective-type questions.
  • Paper 1 comprises 50 questions.
  • 100 questions will be asked in Paper 2.
  • Paper - I will be common for all candidates appearing APSET and will be bilingual (English and Telugu) in nature.
  • Paper – II will be conducted for 30 subjects and the following subjects, a) Commerce b) Economics c) Education d) History e) Political Science f) Public Administration and g) Sociology, will be bilingual (English and Telugu).
  • All the remaining papers will be conducted in English language only except Hindi, Sanskrit, Telugu and Urdu.
  • Paper I is of General Awareness and carries 100 marks. It comprises 50 compulsory objective-type questions of 2 marks each. 
  • Paper-II comprises 100 compulsory objective-type questions of 2 marks each from the subject selected by the candidate. Hence, the total marks of Paper II are 200.

Dear candidate, it is not mandatory for you to submit a NOC signed by the District Educational Officer (DEO). If you fulfil all the required AP SET eligibility criteria, then you can appear in the eligibility test which is expected to be conducted on the 06th of December 2020. There is no subject for M.Tech ECE in APSET entrance exam. However, do not need to worry as you can apply for UGC NET as an alternative option. UGC NET is a national level exam conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA) on behalf of the University Grants Commission in order to shortlist the candidates for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and Assistant Professor in Indian universities and colleges.
