TISSNET 2024 Exam Pattern (Latest)

TISSNET Exam Pattern 2024 is decided by theTata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS). The exam will be conducted in the last week ofFebruary 2024. The candidates who are appearing for the exam should be familiar with the syllabus, exam pattern, and marking scheme. Candidates can apply for multiple programmes through a single application form. TISS has five campuses across India-Tuljapur (Maharashtra), Mumbai, Guwahati, Chennai, and Hyderabad. Every campus offers BA and MA courses in various disciplines. 

TISSNET 2024 does not have negative marking for any programme including Human Resource Development (HRM). Candidates who apply for a single programme or multiple programmes have to attempt a single question paper with 100 questions for a duration of 100 minutes, this includes candidates who choose HRM in combination with other programme/ programmes.

The test consists of multiple choice questions and thus even those with a basic knowledge of working with computers or cell phones can appear for the test.

  • TISSNET question paper carries 100 objective-type questions

  • Each question carries 1 mark

  • TISSNET 2024 is going to be a computer-based test

  • There is no negative marking

  • The exam carries a total of 100 marks

  • After the written test, the candidates have to appear for the personal interview round

  • TISSNET 2024 exam has Mathematics and Logical Reasoning, English Proficiency, and General Awareness sections.

TISSNET 2024 Exam Pattern Changes Over the Years

The TISSNET exam pattern saw the introduction of some changes in 2020 which continued in the TISSNET 2024 exam pattern as well. The changes that were introduced in the exam pattern which will be maintained in the TISSNET exam pattern 2023 are given below:

  • The TISSNET 2024 exam pattern, like the previous year, will be devoid of any negative marking scheme

  • For all the programmes, the TISSNET 2024 exam will comprise of a single question paper

  • The TISSNET 2024 question paper will have 100 questions and the candidates will have 100 minutes to attempt all

  • The scoring pattern for TISSNET 2024 will be the same as the TISSNET 2023 scoring pattern in which the English Proficiency section, the General Awareness section, and the Maths & Logical Reasoning section will carry 30, 40, and 30 marks respectively
