List of Courses under BHU PET 2022: Check Detailed Eligibility Criteria

The Banaras Hindu University Post Graduate Entrance Test (BHU PET) is conducted for the applicants who are interested in taking admission in post-graduation courses at Banaras Hindu University. There are several courses offered by BHU and the applicants can take admission after clearing the BHU PET examination. BHU PET is conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA) every year for postgraduate applicants.

List of Courses under BHU PET 2022

The courses for BHU PET 2022 are divided into three wings- General course, Professional course, and Special course. The list of courses is mentioned below.

General Course - The first-course wing is the general course where all traditional courses are taught at the postgraduate level. The general course includes different faculties such as faculty of arts, science, social science, commerce, and faculty of Sanskrit Vidya Dharma Vijanana. The course duration will be of 2 years (4 semesters)  for the PG courses and 3 years (6 semesters) for PG technical courses.

Professional Course - The second type of course is the professional course where applicants can pick up the courses that will enable them to find suitable job opportunities. These courses are industry-ready and help in developing prospects for a professional career. The professional career includes different faculties such as the faculty of visual arts, performing arts, education, arts, law, science, Mahila Mahavidyalaya, institute of medical science, and agriculture science. The course duration will be of 2 years (4 semesters)  for the PG courses and 3 years (6 semesters) for PG technical courses and for 1 year (2 semesters)  for faculty of education.

Special Course - The third and last category is of special course. The admission to the special courses is done on the basis of merits in the entrance tests. However, in case the number of applicants is less than twice the number of seats, then an entrance test will not be conducted. In such a scenario, admission to the special course will be done on the basis of merit in the qualifying examination. The course duration will be of 2 years (4 semesters)  for the PG special courses.

BHU PET 2022 Eligibility Criteria

It is important for the applicants to know about BHU PET 2022 eligibility criteria in order to apply for the desired course and for the admission process. The applicants must check the eligibility criteria before applying for BHU PET 2022. The eligibility criteria are mentioned below:

Eligibility Criteria for General Course

• The candidate must have studied the specific subject in the UG program course in which the candidates want to take admission.
• The candidate must have acquired 50% marks in all the subjects chosen during the honors.
• There is no upper or lower age limit to apply.
• Applicants filling the form must be a citizen of India.

Eligibility Criteria fa or Professional Course

• The candidates must have completed a bachelor's degree from a recognized board
• Minimum of 50% marks aggregate in all the subjects.
• Applicants filling the form must be a citizen of India.
• There is no upper or lower age limit to apply.

Eligibility Criteria for Special Course

• The candidate must have pursued the bachelor’s degree in any discipline in the (10+2+3) pattern.
• The candidate must have scored 50% marks in all subjects.
• Applicants filling the form must be a citizen of India.
• There is no upper or lower age limit to apply.

Note: The eligibility criteria vary for SC/ST/OBC/Physically challenged.
