Spread across sprawling 400 acres of land, the Magadh University is located in Bodh Gaya, Bihar. It is a public state University run by the Bihar State Government that has been recognized by the UGC, and is accredited with NAAC ‘Grade C’. Interestingly, it is also called the first 'Digital University' of Bihar. The University was established on March 1, 1962, by Shri Satyendra Narayan Singh and is considered one of the largest in the state of Bihar.

The University campus comprises huge libraries, laboratories, a cafeteria, gymnasiums, sports facilities, an auditorium, hostel buildings, medical centers, huge parks and gardens, and pieces of empty land for future infrastructural developments. The entire campus is air-conditioned, with modern technologies and amenities available for everyday use.

Magadh University provides admission through entrance examinations, across a wide range of undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programmes in the departments of Arts, Sciences, and Commerce.
