All the five Universities of Jharkhand are to go hi- tech as per planning of Department of higher and technical education by next year.
The department plans to introduce 'innovative learning' at university level and has directed all the universities to work towards making the vision come true.
In a letter has been sent by the department secretary all the five state universities including Ranchi University, Kolhan University, Vinoba Bhave University, Sidho Kanhu Murmu University and Nilamber Pitambar University along with BIT Sindri regarding the innovative learning.
"Innovative learning plays a major role in making students interested in studies and providing them job-oriented education. To implement innovative learning, budget has been allotted under various heads including information and communication technology, modernization and strengthening of libraries and laboratories and establishment of science and technology centres," said the secretary.
These universities have been given direction to establish digital libraries with e-books and e-journals. The university campuses have to be made Wi-Fi. The universities have also been directed to make a proposal for buying kindle and ipads for the student to access the e- book. Besides that it has also been ordered to convert all the classrooms into smart classrooms and provide laptops, video projectors and white boards in every class.
