- The Australia Awards-Endeavour Scholarships and Fellowships have been granted to 52 Indian students to promote research initiatives.
- These scholarships are also a means to build strong networks between Indian and Australian scholars research.
Over 52 Indian students will get Australia Awards – Endeavour Scholarships and Fellowships for the year 2018. The recipients of the scholarship will study at popular research institutes in Australia and the awardees will have an opportunity to take up research in the fields of public health, law, medical science, criminology and mechanical engineering. Mr. Harinder Sidhu – Australian High Commissioner to India gave clarity in this regard on November 17, 2017. Three Australians will also get the opportunity to undertake learning opportunities in India.
Benefits of Australian Endeavour Scholarship Scheme: -
- Travel allowance of $3,000 will be provided to the recipients. Under special circumstances, the recipients will also receive $4,500.
- Establishment allowance of $2,000 will be provided for fellowships.
- The awardees will get a monthly stipend of $3,000.
- Apart from the above-mentioned allowances, the recipients will also receive health and travel insurance.
- Endeavour scholarship awardees will be also provided tuition fees, which is paid up to the maximum study or research duration on a pro-rata basis.
- The tuition fee will include amenities and student service fees.

Nr. Harinder Sidhu congratulated the awardees. The candidates were selected based on their capability to build research, educational and professional links between India and Australia.
The fellowships and scholarships are awarded every year to deserving researchers, students, professionals across the world. Department of Education and Training of Australian government implemented the scholarship scheme. These scholarships are purely merit-based and internationally competitive.
