Agra University’s Institute of Engineering and Technology (IET) engineering students will be offered free coaching for the GATE exam (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) which is the gateway for admission to postgraduate or M.Tech courses in engineering.
As per the reports of Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar University, Agra candidates aspiring to appear in the GATE examination will be offered free of cost coaching facilities. IET has taken this decision to enable students to continue education in post graduation to improve their job prospects and increase their employability.

Candidates will be offered 300 hours of free GATE coaching . VK Saraswat, IET Director also informed that the first batch will have 60 students and the classes will start from the first week of August. The authority will issue the timetable for the same and will ensure that the students get adequate rest between regular classes and coaching.
The GATE scores are used for admissions to post-graduate programs such as M.E., M.Tech, and direct Ph.D. programme in all the higher education institutes of the country. Financial assistance is also provided by MHRD and government agencies to needy students.

GATE is an online examination consisting of over 23 papers. It is usually conducted in the month of February. The GATE exam application starts in the month of September-October. Every year, one of the IITs conducted the GATE exam on a rotational basis. GATE 2019 will be conducted by IIT Madras .
