Aligarh Muslim University has launched Aligarh Open University (AOU) programme through which the alumni network of AMU will interact with the present students of the varsity and share knowledge. AOU is facilitated by Federation of Aligarh Alumni Association, North America. The initiative taken by the varsity will enhance classroom learning.
The alumni of the varsity will carry out the initiative with the support of the faculty of the varsity. A number of alumni of AMU are set to volunteer for this positive initiative and share their knowledge. The official launch of the website of Aligarh Open University was held recently.

Pro-Vice Chancellor of Aligarh Muslim University, Brigadier Ahmed Ali explained that AOU would help the students gain not only knowledge but also various skills. Brilliant mentors who are the alumni of AMU will play a significant role in training the students.
The alumni will also share their industry experience so that the students will get acquainted with it. The mentorship given by the alumni will help the students design their career in a right way. Therefore, it is an excellent platform to share and exchange knowledge between students and alumni.

Alumni networks play a significant role in the development of the institute. During the placement season in December 2016 at various IITs, alumni of the institute mentored the students regarding the process of interview. They also suggested various ways for getting success in an interview. Various renowned institutes in India have extensive alumni networks.
