Anna University Postpones Exams Amid Cyclone Gaja Warning, Check Rescheduled Dates

Anna University had to postpone all its exams, which were to be conducted in the Tamil Nadu state, amid cyclone Gaja warning from Indian meteorological department. Anna University has released the rescheduled dates of postponed exams.

In wake of cyclone Gaja, Anna University had to reschedule all its exams in the state of Tamil Nadu. The varsity has cancelled the theory examination for all its affiliated colleges for both undergraduate and postgraduate courses. The exam has been postponed, and will now take place on 22nd November 2018.

Anna University Revised Exam Dates

We have listed the old exam dates and revised exam dates as per the public notice issued by Anna University. All the exams that have to be conducted on the old dates will now be conducted as per new dates -

Apart from this, Pondicherry University has also cancelled its exams at all centres in Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Pondicherry, Karaikal, Mahe and Yanam.

As per the latest updates, the cyclone has affected many districts of the state.

Cyclone Gaja was expected to make a landfall between the Pamban and Cuddalore on 15th November night. There was heavy rainfall in the areas of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry due to which authorities had to shut colleges and school in the area.

The cyclonic storm Gaja crossed the coast of Tamil Nadu in the morning on 16th November. Over 82,000 people were evacuated from the low lying areas and were moved to the relief areas/centres in six different districts of the state.

The government is also working on relief funds and evacuating people from adjoining areas where the warning has been issued by the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD). According to the latest report by the department, the cyclonic storm Gaja is likely to move westwards.
