Andhra State Council for Higher Education (APSCHE) has announced that it will be conducting a retest of AP ICET 2020 on October 7 for COVID-19 positive candidates. APSCHE will inform eligible candidates of all the details about the exam. Candidates will also be able to contact the exam officials to get information about the retest.
The retest is being conducted as per the norms in the revised SOP for conducting exams amid COVID issued by the Health Ministry. It was mentioned in the revised SOP that candidates showing symptoms of COVID will not be allowed to be entered the examination hall.
Who will be Eligible to Appear for the AP ICET 2020 Retest?
Only the candidates who were not allowed to appear for AP ICET 2020 conducted on September 10, 11 because of being tested positive for COVID-19 will be eligible to appear for this retest on October 7. As per the information shared by Admulapu Suresh, the Education Minister of Andhra Pradesh, 6 candidates were not allowed to appear for AP ICET 2020 as they tested positive for COVID-19.
What are the Norms related to Retesting due to COVID-19?
In the first SOP issued for conducting exams amid COVID, the ministry had allowed candidates who showed symptoms for COVID-19 to be seated for the exam in a separate examination room. However, this was changed in a revised version.
The revised SOP directed exam authorities to direct any candidate showing any symptoms of COVID to the nearest health centres. The exam conducting authorities were also given the responsibility of arranging alternate means for such candidates to take the test or conduct their test on a different date.
