On February 7, a notice was released announcing that Banaras Hindu University is all set to operate its campus with 100 percent capacity following COVID-19 standards of operation (SOP). BHU's official Twitter account shared a statement saying, "Strict adherence to COVID appropriate behavior is expected from all." However, various departments will continue to conduct their classes online.
Many units, faculties, various departments, offices, and colleges of Banaras Hindu University will begin operating at full capacity immediately, and all the teaching and non-teaching staffs, administrative officers, and employees of the University will be at their workplaces regularly.
Earlier, the Uttar Pradesh government had allowed schools and colleges to reopen as of February 7, 2022. As per an order by the additional chief secretary, home, all Covid SOPs - social distancing, wearing of face masks, etc should be adhered to at the time of reopening physical classes in schools.
At the same time, Banaras Hindu University (BHU) has just launched a PG graduate program in Hindu studies. In collaboration with the departments of Philosophy and Religion, Sanskrit, and Ancient Indian History, Culture, and Archeology, the Bharat Adhyayan Kendra will offer the program.
