BHU Final Year Exams

Banaras Hindu University or BHU has released a notification regarding the final year exams of the session of 2019-20. The central university has announced that owing to the situation of the coronavirus pandemic in the country, it has decided to conduct the final year or terminal semester exams for the batch of 2019-20 in the online mode. Further, BHU has not put any restrictions on its students consulting books and other resource materials while writing the exam. The university will also provide provisions for the students who are either unable to sit for these terminal exams online or fail in them.

BHU has decided to organise online exams as an alternative to its usual mode of pen-paper-based examination for grading the students as a one-time measure due to the prevalent COVID-19 pandemic in the country. The varsity has decided to substitute some other components of marking students including practicals, projects, and dissertations with assignments and viva-voce that will be held online.

On its Twitter handle, the Banaras Hindu University announced this development and said that proposal of the Academic Council for conducting the examination of the terminal semester of the academic session of 2019-20 through the system of online open-book has been approved by the Executive Council of the university. Under this, the students of BHU can appear for the exam remotely from their homes.
