The petitioner, Anubha Srivastava Sahai said that the eligibility criteria is unfair to the students and should be either removed or relaxed. The petitioner further says that the marks obtained by students in Class 12 boards are not a true reflection of their ability and those students who scored less in the boards can perform brilliantly in the upcoming JEE Main 2023 examination if given the opportunity. The students not only want the 75 eligibility criteria for JEE Mains 2023 to be relaxed but also request a third attempt in May 2023.
The High Court had demanded some documents related to the 75% JEE Main eligibility marks in 12th from the government. Besides, the High Court had also asked for a report that states how being among the top 20 percentile can help students in the previous hearing. - The Government has asked for time till May 2 as they are still gathering some data to come to a conclusion. The Judge had asked them to come on April 27, Thursday, but since ASG is not available, the time has been extended to May 2, 2023.
