The result of Assam SEBA Higher Secondary Leaving Certificate (HSLC) Exam 2016 was declared on Tuesday at 11.am. As per records, boys outshined girls in this year’s HSLC examination with their extraordinary performance.
Sarfaraj Hussain of Sankardev Sishu Niketan, Guwahati has topped the HSLC exam with 98.3% (590 out of 600). To facilitate Sarfaraj’s further education, Assam Education Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has announced a sum of Rs 5 lakh as reward for his future. In addition, a sum of Rs 10 Lakh will be offered to his school for infrastructure development.
Sarfaraj dreams of pursuing his higher studies at Cotton College, Guwahati, which is one of the most prestigious colleges of the region. Himanta Biswa Sharma also assured that the state government will bear all his educational expenses till his Class 12 examination.
Mr Sharma expressed his pride in having such meritorious and hard-working students in the region. He said that it is indeed a matter of extreme pride that we have these brilliant students in our state who can pave the way to economic growth and development of the state and the country as a whole in the years to come. In addition, he directed the public works department to develop an approach road to the school.
The second position was bagged by Swagat Gogoi of St. Xavier’s School, Dibrugarh with 588 out of 600 marks.
