B.Tech Colleges Must Begin First-Year Classes by November 15: AICTE

The latest AICTE calendar was cleared by a bench of judges comprising Aniruddha Bose and L Nageswara Rao who stated that the pandemic is the only reason for the exception to the schedule.

AICTE revised academic calendar 2021-22 released

The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has instructed all the engineering colleges to commence their first-year classes from November 15th this year. The AICTE has directed the institutions to begin their 1st-year engineering classes from the aforementioned date in its revised academic calendar for the session 2021-22. It has also directed the institutions to commence their classes for the existing students by the 01st of October. The revised 2021-22 academic calendar can be accessed from the official website of AICTE.

The procedure of approving technical institutions, standalone PGCM and PGDM colleges, concluded by 15th July, according to the council. By the 02nd of August, existing and new students in the standalone PGCM/PGDM colleges were able to begin classes. The council concluded the first round of counselling and admission for allotment of seats in technical courses by 30th September.

August 11 was earmarked as the last date for admission into the courses offered in the PGCM/PGDM institutions. 10th July was the earlier deadline for the same. For the first and second sessions, the deadlines for admission into the open and online learning/distance learning modes were scheduled for closure on 10th September 2021 and 01st February 2022 respectively.

The last date for existing PGCM/PGDM college students to start classes was 02nd August 2021. Institutions interested in offering online/open and distance learning courses could apply for permission before July 15th.
