CBSE Makes 75% Attendance Mandatory for 10th, 12th Exams

Students should have a minimum of 75% attendance to be able to appear for the 10th and 12th examinations to be conducted by the CBSE. The final decision will take place on 7th January for candidates with low attendance.

CBSE Attendance Rule

CBSE has made 75 percent attendance mandatory for the students to appear in class 10 and 12 examinations conducted by the board. As per the official notification of CBSE, all schools have to calculate attendance of the students who will appear in class 10 and class 12 board exams.

Students whose attendance will be less than 75 percent will not be allowed to appear for the board examinations, as per the rule mandated by the Central Board of Secondary Education. According to the official date, the CBSE board exams will start from February 15, 2020, and admit cards will only be released for the students who are eligible by all means which also includes attendance. Students with short attendance will be required to visit the regional offices and the final decision regarding the same will be taken on January 7, 2020.

In case, the student has a genuine reason behind the shortage of attendance, they will have to submit the supporting documents to the officials latest by January 7th. However, no case will be considered after the deadline and all the standard operating procedures for calculating the attendance will be followed.

This a big year for CBSE as several new changes will kick in. One of the most talked-about in the CBSE board exams 2020 will be two-level maths exams . Also, the theory paper will be for 80 marks instead of 100 marks. Internal assessment will be of 20 marks in total and there will be no practical assessment.
