The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has given its nod for the use of face masks and sanitisers during the ongoing Class Xth and XIIth board examinations. Both the staff and students have been asked to use these two items. The decision was taken by CBSE as a preventive measure against Coronavirus which has till date affected 29 people in India.
With the increasing number of Coronavirus affected people rising in India, the Board exam centres have already received directives from CBSE regarding the preventive measures that must be taken against this deadly disease.
The Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) Secretary has also written to CBSE and the states regarding spreading awareness about COVID-19 among school students. The copy of the letter of MHRD Secretary Amit Khare has been sent to all the states, Union Territories (including their Department of School Education) and CBSE which also consisted of some preventive measures. Common preventive measures like frequent washing of hands, following respiratory etiquettes etc. The letter also insisted the youth to step forward and become the agents of change for their community, family and beyond.

According to CBSE Secretary Anurag Tripathi’s statement, the parents have been inquiring relentlessly about the measures taken by CBSE to safeguard the students from this virus. The Secretary also said that several students and parents have been seeking the permission of using face masks and sanitisers as a precautionary measure. While concluding, the CBSE secretary added that keeping in mind the inquiries received, the Board decided to allow the students to carry face masks and sanitisers to the examination centres if they wish to.

As of now, 29 people in India have been tested positive for COVID-19 and awareness campaigns at every nook and corner of the country is being carried by various Government and Non-Government Organisations.
