CBSE to Introduce Free Online Teacher Training Programs

The Central Board of Secondary Education will introduce a structured free of cost online teacher training programs. The aim is to enable teachers to teach better and improve learning outcomes.

The Central Board of Secondary Education will introduce a structured free of cost online teacher training programs. The courses will be launched in online mode for teachers and no fee will be charged from them. Once the teachers have successfully completed their course, an e-certificate will be issued.C

CBSE Releases ‘Teacher Energised Manuals’ for Science, Maths from Class 6 to 10

The CBSE has come up with a Teacher Energised Resource Manuals (TERM) for teaching Science, Mathematics from classes 6 to 10 in collaboration with the Central Square Foundation. The main aim is to build align their classroom teachings and build computer competencies.

The classes will have several sessions and each session will be one hour long. Taking five sessions will be considered as one day of training. The board informed that around 1,200 online sessions are planned by the Centre of Excellence in May.

According to the official release of CBSE, the online training programs for teachers will help improve learning outcomes. It will also instill new skills and knowledge and keep them on par with new industry trends. The notice further stated that COVID-19 has disrupted the education system which was already losing its relevance. Therefore, it is important to enhance the skills especially in the times of COVID-19 where social distancing is the new normal.

Earlier, the board conducted pilot programmes to train teachers from the 3rd week of April. More than 500 free online training sessions were conducted by 15 CBSE COE and over 35,000 teachers and principals from across the country and abroad participated in the same.

Meanwhile, AICTE also hosted a conducted an informative webinar on Revisiting Management Education on 2nd May 2020. The session was held from 4 pm to 6 pm and was chaired by Rajive Kumar AICTE Member Secretary.
