Altaf Bukhari, Education Minister of Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday made an announcement that regarding the Central University . He informed that the Central University in Kashmir would be fully functional in Ganderbal within the next 15 days. He also mentioned that the divisional and district administration would be offering full support to the University authority so that they could shift the vice chancellor’s office and allied offices in the originally designated area.

All the announcements regarding the Central University took place at a high-level meeting organised by the minister himself to review the progress and get the work done smoothly at the campus and there is no further delay in the campus work.
University will have a sports college so that interested students enhance their skills in their respective sports. As of now, the university will be functional from an old hospital building until the time university’s own campus is completed. He further added that the government would ask MHRD to release funds to get the leftover on campus completed.

Establishment of the central university will provide candidates for the J&K state with better career opportunities. As pointed out by the minister most of the aspirants from the state were forced to leave the state and look for college/ university outside. The initiative is going to bring a drastic change in the education system of the state.
