Haryana State Technical Counselling will now organise centralised entrance test for admission into various technical courses offered by private universities in the state.
A higher education department spokesman on Monday informed that the state government has planned to admit the students to different professional courses in medical and allied faculties in private varsity of the state, centrally by the department of medical education and research.
He informed that as per the provisions of the Haryana Private Universities Act 2006, candidates will be given admissions in various technical and professional courses in private institutes only through entrance exam results conducted either by the state agency or through a university association involved in similar courses. As of now, the private universities of the state are conducting their own entrance exam for admitting pupils in technical and professional courses and thus violating the established provisions of the Act.

Some private institutes offered professional courses in Agriculture Science through the centralised admission examination conducted by CCSHAU (Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University) situated in Hisar.
Private universities in Haryana not only offer technical, medical and agricultural courses but also provide admissions to various other professional courses including law, B.Ed. For these courses, the spokesman stated that admissions to B.Ed in private universities would now be done through centralised counselling which will be conducted by the state university authorised by the Haryana government. Similarly, all the law course aspirants will be offered admission on the basis of the merit rank in Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) .

However, he revealed that only for this year, private institutes are allowed to conduct their own entrance test for the courses besides the ones beyond the scope of medical, technical education, law, B.Ed and agriculture. He added that all private universities of Haryana, from the next academic session, will establish an association of universities which will be responsible for conducting centralised entrance exam for these professional courses.
The spokesman said that all the vice-chancellors of private institutes have been asked to strictly follow these instructions and send details about the available seats in all courses of their university by 25 June 2017.
