• NCERT Now to Have ‘Deemed-to-be University’ Status: The National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) has been announced to have a Deemed-to-be University status by UGC on Friday, 1 September 2023. With this promotion, NCERT can now apply to open new institutes for educational research.

• Government Formed Committee on ‘One Nation One Election’: The central government formed an 8-member observation committee under the leadership of former President Ram Nath Kovind to explore the possibilities of holding Lok Sabha and State Elections simultaneously

• 7th Nilgiri-Class Stealth Frigate Ship INS Mahendragiri Launched: Adding more power to the Indian Navy’s Stealth Fleet, INS Mahendragiri was introduced on 1st September 2023. This 149-metre-wide and 3450-ton heavy war-ship has the CMS 17-A Combat Management System for Surveillance and armed with 8 Brahmos and 32 Barrack Missiles
