With the declining interest of students in Sanskrit over the years, the Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Gorakhpur University has announced that they will be providing free coaching classes. These free Sanskrit coaching classes from the University will be offered to the UPSC Civil Services 2020 aspirants who have chosen Sanskrit as a language.
The registration for the first batch will begin in the next 10 days, which will have a total capacity of 50 students. All applicants will go through a selection process, which comprises a test and an interview.
While speaking to the media, the Head of Sanskrit Department at Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Gorakhpur University, Professor Murli Manohar Pathak, stated that the language had been losing its popularity. Therefore, to boost its popularity, the Varsity decided that a free coaching scheme for Sanskrit should be launched. For this purpose, he added, a proposal had been sent to the Uttar Pradesh Sanskrit Parishad, who had approved of the proposal. The professor added that the coaching scheme will now cater to 50 students, for its first batch.
He also mentioned the selection process of all the candidates who will be applying for the coaching scheme. He stated that the selection of the candidates will be based on their performance in a test and an interview. Further, all applications have been invited in offline mode. In other words, the interested candidates are required to visit the campus and fill in the application forms and submit them at the Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Gorakhpur University.

The course structure of the Sanskrit free coaching classes for Civil Services, comprises a 2-hour class, between 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. Under the coaching classes, the varsity will cover the syllabus for UPSC Civil Services exam as well as the UP PCS exam, the professor stated.

In addition to the Sanskrit coaching classes, the Professor stated that experts in the field will be called to teach the students and clear all the doubts in the subject. In other news, all the announcements and details for the Civil Services 2020 exam will be announced by UPSC in the second week of February 2020. The preliminary exam for Civil Services is expected to be held by the end of May 2020.
