Delhi University defers spot admission, the special cut-off for UG courses due to the ongoing COVID-19 crisis. The university release the category and course wise list for PG admissions on 18th November.

Delhi University released its fifth cutoff 2020 on 7th November 2020. After the release of the fifth cutoff, it was decided that the university will release a special cutoff for spot admission. However, the varsity has decided to defer the spot admission for admission to various undergraduate entrance based courses. This is because many departments have been affected due to COVID-19.
Not only this, but the varsity has also decided to defer the announcement of a special cutoff for admission to UG courses that were vacant after the five-round of cutoffs. In the last cutoff itself, the admission to most of the popular colleges/ courses have closed.
According to the official notification released by the university many departments have been affected by COVID-19. This is the prime reason the spot admission to UG entrance based courses and the special cutoff has been deferred until further notice.
Meanwhile, the university will release the category and course wise list of vacant seats for admission to various PG courses in each college on 18th November 2020.
After the release of the DU Fifth cutoff 2020, over 67,781 seats were filled and admission closed for most of the popular courses. A total of 70,000 seats were filled during the DU UG Admissions 2020. This year, the number of applications for UG admissions were as high as 3.5 lakh which is the highest in the past three years which is almost more than last year.
