The combined list for the admission to government and private medical colleges has been released by Directorate of Medical Education and Research, Maharashtra on August 1, 2017. Even though DMER released the first selection list on July 28, 2017, the combined list of government and private medical colleges is considered as the first list. In the previous list, the admission process took place only for government medical colleges. Out of 2,450 students whose name featured in the first selection list, 2,100 students secured admission. Earlier, the admission to private medical colleges was stalled due to the fee hike issue.

According to DMER, the candidates who were allotted seats in the first seat allotment list that was released on July 28, 2017, can retain their seats. The candidates who confirmed the seat as per the first selection list can also withdraw the seat and opt for the seat as per combined first selection list. The combined list features the names of 6,000 students for MBBS/ BDS and allied health science courses including Nursing, Ayurveda etc. A candidate can confirm their admission by August 5, 2017, 3:00 PM, or else it will lapse.

DMER conducts only two rounds of admission process for medical, dental and allied health science courses. The second selection list will be announced in the second week of August.
