The Doon University , located in the lush green foothills of Shivalik, is dedicated to promoting excellence in teaching and research while offering a full range of multi-disciplinary academic programmes at the undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral level.
Doon university, now is facing a great problem the administration and teachers who are the core teams working together to make the university a place for students to learn has its doors closed for 2 weeks. The reason for this strike is that teachers and the administration have a demand to increase their salaries.
The students are highly affected because of this strike. The semester examinations have been postponed for 15 days because of which the students staying away had to cancel reservations and reschedule everything. The classes and the college has come to a stand still, the accounts section is also closed which might delay the admission procedure as well sources said.
These strikes are a result of improper coordination among the departments. This is something which is not a matter of choice but a situation which needs immediate attention.
"The UPNL employees strike continues and uncertainty prevail with regard to their availability for performing examination/official duties. The students are advised to contact their respective head of the departments for revised exam schedule and appear in exams accordingly" says the registrar Dr. B.M.Harbola Doon University.
