To offer better career opportunities for the financially-challenged students studying under the Government schools of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, Dr Reddy’s Laboratories is providing up to 62 academically brilliant but financially-challenged students Post-SSC scholarships.
Under the Dr Reddy’s School Improvement Programme which was launched in 2011, Dr Reddy’s has been able to provide financially-challenged but bright students over the years to achieve their goals in education. Like the previous years, this year, Dr Reddy’s has been able to offer scholarships to up to 62 students from various Zilla Parishad High Schools that are located in the Guntur district of Andhra Pradesh. The students had been awarded Post Secondary School Examination or post-SSC scholarship wherein, the top rankers and the students who had performed exceptionally well in their studies.
Dr V Narayana Reddy from Dr Reddy’s Laboratories had commented on awarding the students with scholarships, stating that the students near the factories of Dr Reddy’s Laboratories had been able to achieve great scores in their academics, however, due to financial constraints, the students had been forced to quit their school education. This prompted the administration at Dr Reddy’s to bring forth a scholarship scheme for those students who perform brilliantly in their academics and belong to the financially challenged part of the society. Under the programme, the company has been able to improve the lives of more than 1.25 lakh students across the states, sources state.
In the words of Dr V Narayana Reddy, the introduction of the scholarship programme will ensure that all the students have equal opportunity to access education irrespective of the financial standing of the student and his/her family.

Sources have stated that Dr Reddy had shortlisted over 500 students from almost 230 Zilla Parishad High Schools located in different districts in the states of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. For the purpose of providing scholarship to these students, Dr Reddy Laboratories had offered up Rs. 54.4 lakhs.

As per the information, Dr Reddy’s Laboratories have not only offered students with scholarships but also various facilities such as solar panels, RO water purifiers, as well as better sanitation facilities under the Dr Reddy’s School Improvement Programme.
