Google to Grant Rs. 65 Lakh to AKTU for Research Work

Google to Grant Rs. 65 Lakh to AKTU for Research Work

Popular search engine and internet giant ‘Google’ will grant over Rs. 65 lakh to AKTU (Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University) for a major research work. Vice Chancellor of the varsity, Mr. Vinay Pathak revealed that AKTU is the first university to get such financial assistance from Google. The grant from Google will help AKTU in strengthening the research work at Centre for Advanced Studies of varsity.

Director of Centre for Advanced Studies, Mr. Manish Gaur, pointed out that the grant from Google is a significant achievement for AKTU. Google is all set to establish ‘coding lab’ on Lucknow campus of AKTU. It will give the students and faculty of AKTU an opportunity to associate and work with Google as well as develop an app for its utility services in Java, said by Mr. Manish.

Mr. Vinay Pathak revealed that the coding lab is nearing its completion and it would be functional by the end of December. If everything goes as expected, the lab will help students and faculty to understand the functioning of Google, he added. It gives a great learning experience to students and opens up new opportunities for them after they graduate from the varsity, he highlighted.

Google will set up a server room on the campus of AKTU through which students will learn the digital security system and code generation activity. However, the lab will not be accessible to all the students. Only a few students, who are talented, well versed with the latest and new age technology will get a chance to study at the lab.

AKTU has also collaborated up with Google to start Android-based application development programmes.
