Gujarat Board Introduces New Exam Pattern for Class 10th and Class 12th

The Gujarat Secondary and Higher Education Board (GSHSEB) has introduced new changes in its exam pattern for class 10th and 12th Board Exams to be held in 2020. One of the biggest change is doing away with the OMR sheets which were used for marking MCQ. The MCQs carried 50% per cent weightage in the examination.

The second major change introduced by GSHSEB is replacing the MCQs with 20% objective type questions that candidates can answer on the answer sheet itself. Each paper of total 80 marks will carry 20% objective questions (16 marks) and 80% subjective questions (64 marks).

The new exam pattern will not only enhance writing skills of students but will also help them perform better in top exams such as JEE Main and NEET.

According to the official notification of GSHSEB, the exam weightage for Class 10th board exams will now be 80% instead of the 70% . The Gujarat board has also scraped the school-based comprehensive evaluation system and instead will introduce internal evaluation.
