The Maharashtra state board of secondary and higher secondary examination has invited applications for HSC supplementary examination, to be held in July. A circular dated May 27 states that online applications will begin from May 30. Applications can be submitted till June 9 with regular fees and till June 13 with late fees. Schools and junior colleges have been asked to submit the list of students with the required challan by June 17.
The students have been advised to contact the divisional board office in case of any problem during the process. Students who wish to improve their grades can do so by applying for July exam and later March 2017 examination.
"We are likely to receive around 15,000 applications from both fresh and old repeater candidates. The number might increase this year due to the decline in pass percentage this year. Last year, the pass percentage of repeater students was 43%, while this year it stood at 30%."
- HSC Board, Kolhapur
The total pass percentage in Kolhapur division was 88.10% — almost 4% less compared to last year. This will be for the first time that the board will be conducting the repeater exam in July. Officials said the supplementary exam will be conducted in July henceforth to save the academic year of students.
The result of the exam will be drawn in the next month, they added. The decision to start the repeater examination in July was taken last year. It started with SSC supplementary exam in July, after which many stakeholders demanded to repeat the procedure for HSC also.
