A top bureaucrat of Andhra Pradesh Government has informed that the AP State Government has brought IIM Ahmedabad onboard for managing corruption issues in the higher-ranked government offices of the state. The official told PTI that the IIM Ahmedabad will use its expertise to identify the main structural issues of the government departments for tackling the corruption-related issues.
The main focus of the study will be the departments of revenue, police, municipal administration and registration which have earned a bad name for the continuous corruption going on under its roofs.
The officer said that the institute will identify the structural issues in the Mandal revenue offices of the state, town- planning wing in civic bodies, registration offices, and the police department. Based on the inputs of IIM Ahmedabad, the state government will take appropriate action to eradicate the issues.
The chief minister of AP, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy in a meeting held recently has said that there will be an aggressive fight against the corruption in government offices and AP Anti-corruption Bureau will be deployed in different parts of the state from the next two weeks who will be working in full swing.
A high ranked IPS officer who has also worked with Anti-Corruption Bureau has said the Sanction for prosecution of corrupt officials is a major concern of this project. In many a case, action against the corrupt officials is dropped due to unavailability of sanction for prosecution by the higher authorities.

The work process of IIM Ahmedabad will be reducing Citizen-Official Interface in the government offices using Information Technology, reducing discretionary power and arbitrariness of the bureaucrats and publishing the names of corrupt officials in the public domain.
