IIM Calcutta will be hosting a mentorship session on entrepreneurship with Discovery Channel for the students across various colleges from Kolkata on January 25, 2020 from 3:30 PM onwards. The guest speakers for the event are the co‐founders of Licious, a start up which deals in meat and seafood. Licious has been earlier a part of the first season of Discovery Channel’s ‘India Startup Stories’ - It featured the journey of Indian startups which made a significant impact on the Indian start up. This event will also screen an episode from the series.

IIM Calcutta’s Director Anju Seth said they are pleased with this collaboration with Discovery Channel as it is an exciting initiative which will benefit the student community in Kolkata. And, it is important for the aspiring entrepreneurs to get some guidance which will assist them in building or expanding their own businesses. This session looks at connecting the founders of successful and well-established businesses to budding entrepreneurs and it can prove to be a good opportunity for the students to learn all about running a business from the best.

The co-founders of Licious Abhay Hanjura and Vivek Gupta said the entrepreneurship journey can be fascinating in different ways and people go through it differently, they move at their own pace and face their own set of challenges and setbacks. They highlighted how the start up system in India has evolved and such sessions really help the next gen entrepreneurship in India. The session will have a duration of 2 hours and will begin with the speakers taking the viewers through their journey and it will be followed by the screening of their featured episode and will end with a question answer session at the end.
