In an announcement made by the Union Cabinet, the approval for the establishment of the permanent campuses for seven Indian Institutes of Management (IIM) has been approved. These seven IIMs which were majorly established between 2015 and 2017 include IIM Amritsar , IIM Bodh Gaya , IIM Nagpur , IIM Sambalpur , IIM Sirmour , IIM Vishakhapatnam and IIM Jammu . At present, these IIMs are working and functioning from the transit campuses.
Now that the approval has been received, each of the permanent campuses will be built in an area of 60384 sqm and the college is expected to have complete infrastructural facilities for 600 students each. The government has decided to disburse Rs. 5 lakh per student for the next five years to all these newer IIMs. It has been communicated that the institutes are expected to meet their maintenance cost from the available internal generation of funds.

Furthermore, the construction of all the permanent campuses of these IIMs is expected to be completed by June 2021 which will mean that by that time, all the 20 IIMs in India will have their own permanent campuses.

Admissions to PGDM courses offered by IIMs are based on a candidate's performance in the CAT exam. Apply latest by 19th September 2018. Check CAT 2018 important dates here. Once you clear the CAT exam, IIMs will shortlist candidates and move to subsequent rounds of the admission process.
