During the summer placements process of Indian Institute of Management, Rohtak, Patanjali Ayurved hired 10 summer interns which marked the beginning of a business relationship between Patanjali Ayurved and IIM Rohtak. A special recruitment drive was conducted at the Herbal Park of Patanjali, located in Haridwar. As a practice, Patanjali recruits students from few management institutes and IIM Rohtak is one among them.
The interns recruited by Patanjali Ayurved from IIM Rohtak will be working in different fields in the company including corporate strategy, finance, branding, marketing and analytics. Patanjali is one of the largest FMCG companies in India. IIM Rohtak management is hopeful that its students will be able to contribute to a strong trajectory of Patanjali.

After the recruitment drive, the selected interns from IIM Rohtak interacted with the Managing Director of Patanjali, Mr. Acharya Balakrishna. The interactive session was themed around management lessons learnt from the traditional Indian culture.
Director of IIM Rohtak, Professor Dheeraj Sharma revealed that IIM Rohtak will assist Patanjali Ayurved in realising their future development plans. IIM Rohtak will be writing cases on different strategies and tactics used by Patanjali to succeed in a highly competitive business environment. There is a need to study Patanjali’s success secret for pedagogical purposes, which may be taught in selected management courses, he added.

The two-month internship opportunity is an integral part of the curriculum of the students. The internship enables the students to involve actively with the industry in a cooperative manner. Through internships, the industry also benefits from the knowledge and skills of IIM Rohtak students while they themselves benefit from a practical understanding of business problems.
Apart from Patanjali Ayurved, the major recruiters at IIM Rohtak were Tata Steel, Accenture, Dell and Cognizant.
