IIM Shillong launched Post Graduate Programme for executives focused on Managing Business in Emerging Economies (PGPEx-MBEE). The 8th edition of the programme commenced with an invocation by Prof A Mukhopadhyay and an overview of the programme by PGPEx-MBEE, Chairperson, Prof Rohit Joshi. The present batch has an average work experience of over 6 years and academic and gender diversity.

It focuses on the emerging economies of the world especially Bangladesh, China and Indonesia. The programme’s objective is to assist the students get an edge over managing transnational business in emerging economies with good quality of education and a rich cross cultural experience.
The course will make sure that there is holistic development of all the participants. The core courses will include data design, analytics, operations research while the advanced courses will deal with growth strategy, value chain management, business leadership and innovation. The elective courses will focus on the application of the knowledge one has in the core and advanced courses.
The chief guest for the event, Jayajyoti Sengupta, Head APJ, India and Middle East, Board Member of Cognizant Asia Pacific Geographies, Singapore, mentioned how businesses are transforming and motivated the new participants for the journey ahead for the next course of formal education.

The event ended with the oath taking by the 27 new participants and presentation of memento by Prof DP Goyal to the chief guest.
