Two scholars from Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore have been awarded the Best Paper Certificate at COSMAR 2017, organised by Department of Management Studies (Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore). The competition took place on November 20 & November 21, 2017, after IISc Bangalore had shortlisted 66 papers out of 110 to be presented at the event.

The two winners of Best Paper Certificate from IIM Bangalore are: -
- A scholar from IIM Bangalore’s doctoral programme FPM (Fellowship Programme in Management) in the Finance & Accounting area, Mr. Nabendu Paul won the Best Paper Certificate.
- A scholar pursuing her doctoral studies in the Economics & Social Sciences area at IIM Bangalore, Kalpana Tokas also emerged as one of the winners of COSMAR 2017.
Nabendu Paul presented a paper on ‘Determinants of Ownership Concentration – Evidence from the Cross Section Sample of Indian Firms’, while Kalpana Tokas presented the paper on ‘New Age Preferential Trade Agreements – Implications for Value-Added Trade’.

Out of the 66 papers shortlisted by IISc Bangalore, four papers have been selected for Best Paper Certificate and a cash prize of Rs. 5,000 each. It is a matter of pride for IIM Bangalore that two out of four papers chosen were by IIM Bangalore’s doctoral scholars. The faculty members of the respective departments appreciated the winners.
