The second alumni meet of IIT Bhubaneswar took place in its campus from April 12-14 making it 10 years of IIT Bhubaneswar’s inception in which alumni from different branches across the country took place.
The alumni in the US and UK also connected over video conference to take part in the celebration which began with the inauguration by IIT BBS Director Prof RV Raja Kumar in the presence of Commander VK Jaity, Alumni Affairs Dean Swarup Kumar Mohapatra and Alumni President Lipsa Bharati.
Kumar said that at IIT BBS they aim to offer all the past students a platform through which students can stay connected amongst themselves and also stay committed to the institute and students across various batches. According to Mohapatra, the institute conducts regular ‘Ask your Alumni’ webinar sessions for the students, and an entire alumni online platform for alumni-students-faculty collaboration has been organized by the alumni association to help the students.

During the three-day programme, there were interactions of students and alumni, panel discussions, open house ‘Ask Your Alumni’ in the UK and US sessions.
Some of the notable alumni who were present were Rapido co-founder Sanka Aravind, Wa2cook co-founder Karthikeyan, Vasitars’ founder Tushar Gautam, TorrDroid founder Pratik Pattnaik and Cellark founder Ashwini Pandey.

IIT Bhubaneswar was set up in 2008 and is one amongst the eight new IITs set up by the Ministry of Human Resource Development. IIT Bhubaneswar offers B.Tech, M.Tech and Ph.D. courses and the admissions for the same are done on the basis of JEE Advanced
