The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bhubaneshwar has decided to start an online examination for the students in order to facilitate timely completion of graduation. The online exams will be conducted in two sessions, one will start from June 24 while another exam will be conducted in the month of July 2020 . It is up to the students to appear in any of the two exams as an option.
The Institute has come up with a claim of creating a world-class method to conduct examinations online. IIT-BBS also claims that the new technology has taken care of all the existing loopholes in the system and can be used for conducting examinations ranging from class tests to end-semester examinations of an institute.

According to IIT Bhubaneshwar, the new method uses commercial systems which are currently available like the Wheebox which can take care of several limitations of conducting online tests like the reliability of invigilation, the shortage of robustness etc.
The director of IIT Bhubaneshwar R V Raja Kumar said that the robust online examination system is capable of conducting tests ranging from simple computer-based tests to detailed conventional examinations.

In addition to using a virtual examination hall, the system is capable of using real invigilators, online question paper distribution and the submission of answer books in soft copy format which, if needed, may be available in printed format as well.
Kumar also added that through this system, a student can take the online examination from any corner of the globe. For a reliable connection, two or more network connections are being used by the system.
However, the students have been opposing the option of online examination as they complain of not having a proper network connection or availability of laptops. As per the students, the best way as of now is to cancel the upcoming exams.
