The eligibility for Ph.D. courses in various domains is different. IIT Dhanbad offers PhD research options in Engineering, Science, Social Science, and Management. Check the minimum qualifying criteria for each department below:

• Eligibility for Ph.D. in Engineering: A Master’s Degree in engineering/science with first class division i.e. 60% or more aggregate/6.0 CGPA (On a 10 pointer scale)

• Eligibility for Ph.D. in Humanities and Social Sciences: A Master’s Degree in the relevant subject with first class division i.e. 60% or more aggregate/6.0 CGPA (On a 10 pointer scale)

• Eligibility for Ph.D. in Science: A Master’s Degree in a relevant subject of science with first class division i.e. 60% or more aggregate/6.0 CGPA (On a 10 pointer scale)

• Eligibility for Ph.D. in Management: A Master’s Degree in a relevant subject with first class division i.e. 60% or more aggregate/6.0 CGPA (On a 10 pointer scale)
