However, post the deadline extension, the application form can now be submitted until 5 PM on November 2, 2023. IIT Guwahati Ph.D. Admission 2023 Eligibility Criteria
As per the eligibility criteria stated by IIT Guwahati, a candidate must either have a Master’s Degree or a Four-Year Bachelor’s Degree in their specified discipline to apply for PhD admissions. In addition, a criterion for Cumulative Performance Index (CPI) or Percentage/Marks is also applicable as follows:
- If a candidate has a Master’s Degree, then he/she must have a CPI of at least 6.0 on a 10-point scale or 60% of marks (if not measured in CPI).
- On the other hand, if a candidate has a Four-Year Bachelor’s Degree, then he/she must have a CPI of 7.0 on a 10-point scale or 70% of marks (if not measured in CPI).
Note: It is important to take note that the eligibility has been relaxed for SC, ST, and PwD candidates by 0.5 CPI or 5% marks. Hence, an SC/ST/PwD candidate having a Master’s Degree must have 5.5 CPI or 55% marks and that with a Bachelor’s Degree must have 6.5 CPI or 65% marks.
