Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology, Delhi Launches Two New B.Tech Courses

The Delhi Government’s Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology will start two new courses of B.Tech this year.

Options available to students are B.Tech programme in Computer Science and Design, or B.Tech programme in IT and Social Science w.e.f. June 6. The main aim is to attract students from humanities stream as these courses are claimed to be innovative and will be the first time ever opportunity for the students. These courses have not been provided by any other institution before in India.

Each course will have 50 seats. Since humanities students want to find solutions to social issues through quantitative computer sciences, this course will help them fetch more jobs.

The topmost firms look for certain qualities in an employee which can come through innovative knowledge rather than what is being taught at engineering colleges.

Out of the two courses, B.Tech in Computer Science and Design will help students to get prepared for IT and Digital Media Industry. It includes gaming, animation, virtual and augmented reality. Not only the product needs good coding, but the interface has to be pleasing as well. One is required to know the color, design and other aspects of the app to make it presentable.

B.Tech in the digital media industry will help students in pursuing higher studies in design which is demanded these days.

Under this course, students will study IT along with two other subjects of social science like economics, sociology or psychology. This will help them understand how to develop products for welfare and entrepreneurship, which was missing in IT courses.
