Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh YS Jagan Mohan Reddy deposited the annual financial assistance under the “Jagananna Amma Vodi” scheme on June 27. The event took place at Srikakulam. As the CM released the amount during the meeting, the same will be credited to all eligible parents of students pursuing Class 1 to Intermediate in Andhra Pradesh. Parents falling under Below Poverty Line (BPL) category are eligible for the Amma Vodi scheme through which Rs. 15,000 per annum shall be deposited into the parents’ bank accounts.
Jagananna Amma Vodi list for the academic session 2022-23 has been sent to respective AP Grama/ Ward Sachivalayams recently. Along with the eligible list, the rejection list was also released stating the reasons.
Major Highlights of Jagananna Amma Vodi Scheme 2022
Some of the major highlights of the Jagananna Amma Vodi Scheme are as follows -
- 6,595 crore is being deposited directly to the bank accounts of 43,96,402 mothers
- There will be a deduction of Rs. 2,000 and each mother will get Rs. 13,000
- 75% attendance in schools and inter colleges is mandatory to be eligible for the scheme benefits
The respective authorities in each municipality including the District Collector, Municipal Commissioner, and authorities of private schools and colleges must make sure that the amount disbursed under the Amma Vodi scheme shall reach the beneficiaries in a timely manner.
The beneficiaries of the Jagannana Amma Vodi scheme must make sure that their children must attend school or college on a regular basis as there is a mandatory attendance rule. Students under this scheme who fail to comply with the minimum attendance rule shall not be eligible for Amma Vodi Scheme for the upcoming academic session.
