Jagiroad College Conducts IT Workshop

The Career Guidance and Placement Cell of Jagiroad College ,in collaboration with the centre for Rural Development (CRD), Guwahati, organised a day-long workshop on ‘Information and knowledge Sharing For Public: Content Generation For Vikashpedia Assamese Portal’ at the college conference hall recently in the presence of students and staff of the institution.

Established on 8th August 1979, Jagiroad College (formerly known as Kapil Anchalik College), offers higher-secondary, undergraduate and postgraduate courses in arts, science, and commerce.

Jagiroad College since its early days has been in the forefront of promoting inclusiveness and equity, adopting learner-friendly teaching-learning mechanisms, academic exchanges, and organizing seminars and conferences. In the past, it successfully organized annual/biennial sessions of NEIHA and NEIGS apart from having a regular calendar of seminars by the Seminar Forum and holding State and National level seminars.

The Principal of the college, Dr. BC Neog explained the aims and objectives of the Career Guidance and Placement Cell of the college.

The nodal coordinator, CRD, Guwahati, Bhrigu Borah, attended the workshop. He gave a brief description of the aims and objectives of the Vikashpedia. Vikashpedia focuses on major areas of social development and upliftment. In addition, it provides responsive and credible information products in local languages catering to the needs of under-developed communities. It also provides a framework for the creation of content along with information dissemination.
