Biology aspirants who wish to pursue a higher education degree in the field of Biology across India will be able to do so through the Joint Graduate Entrance Examination Biology and Interdisciplinary Life Sciences (JGEEBILS). The candidates who have appeared for the examination will be able to take admission in one of the participating colleges, based on the scores obtained in the examination.
The JGEEBILS has been designed to allow all Science stream students who wish to pursue one of the Biology Undergraduate programmes across India. It behaves as a shared entrance test for admission to Biology and Interdisciplinary Life Sciences .
However, each participating Institutes conducts its own admission processes and candidates are advised to read through the admission processes of each college they wish to pursue their course in. JGEEBILS will be a part of the admission process of the participating colleges, however, students will need to partake in the other selection processes as mentioned by the specific college.

All candidates will be required to abide by the JGEEBILS schedule that has been mentioned by the conducting body, i.e. National Centre for Biology Sciences. The Tata Institute of Fundamental Research TIFR coordinates the examination for all centres.
