Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) Prof. Zubair Meenai of the Department of Social Work has been awarded Shastri Indo Canadian Collaborative Institutional Research Grant
As a part of the Canadian Collaborative Institutional Research Grant, Professor will partner with Prof. Christine Walsh of the University of Calgary, Canada to conduct research on Care Reforms in India: Operationalising the Best Interest of Child in the Child Protection Decision Making System.
According to the official release of JMI, a team of researchers from India and Canada will research on the same during the two-year grant. The team of Prof. Zubair Meenai's team includes Prof. Sheema Aleem who is a research scholar and the Canadian team headed by Prof. Christine Walsh includes Angelique C. Jenney and Dorothy Badres, of the University of Calgary, Canada.
Prof Meenai is also the Director of the Centre for Early Childhood Development and Research of the varsity. The research will be a great contribution to Care Reforms in India and in the Child Protection Decision Making System. The Early Childhood Development Research is still in its initial stage in India. The research can bring a positive change to the same.

Meanwhile, JMI has launched the Online Faculty Development Programme to ensure that the best practices for online teaching are followed during the lockdown across India due to the coronavirus outbreak.
