The Board of Intermediate Education of Andhra Pradesh has issued directions to all the Junior Colleges in Andhra Pradesh to commence academic year for 2016-2017 from 1-June-2016. All the government Junior colleges and Private Junior Colleges have made necessary arrangements for the commencement of new academic year. Most of the private junior colleges are planning to conduct an orientation program for the students on the first day.
This year the Intermediate (+2) admissions have risen to 5 percent as 95% of 10 th Standard students passed in the public exams. Most of the students who studied Telugu medium till 10 th standard opted English medium in Intermediate. To make the students cope up with English medium, most of the colleges are planning to conduct one month bridge course in English for the students who are from Telugu medium backdrop.
There are around 45 junior colleges in Vijayawada. Among them most of the colleges are of Sri Chaitanya Educational institutions. This year almost all the colleges in Vijayawada have got more than 150 admissions for each course.
The students are eagerly waiting to go to the colleges as they are new to the college environment. They are very curious to experience the college life.
