A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS) and ‘Help Us Help Them’, a West Bengal based reputed NGO was signed on 22nd October 2017. The objective of the MoU is to set up a branch of KISS in Kolkata. Prof. Achyuta Samanta, Founder, KIIT and KISS signed the MoU on behalf of KISS.
The new branch of KISS will be set up for about 1000 underprivileged children in Kolkata. Earlier, a high-level team of ‘Help Us Help Them’ had also visited KISS after learning about the organization and it’s Founder Prof. Samanta. The team thoroughly assessed the institute and further concluded that KISS is the right platform to eradicate poverty with the help of education. The team of ‘Help Us Help Them’ proposed for a branch of KISS in the West Bengal state - particularly in Kolkata. The cost of the new branch will be borne by ‘Help Us Help Them’, while KISS will provide support in technical and academic aspects. Apart from this, ‘Help Us Help Them’ is continuously working for the development of education and learning habits among unprivileged children.

It is a matter of pride for KISS and Odisha, said Prof. Samanta, while he was thanking ‘Help Us Help Them’ and its founder Mukti Gupta for their noble initiative. KISS is already acclaimed as a successful model of human development, as a result of which, various State Governments are also interested to start a branch of KISS in their respective States, he said.

Since long, journalists, well-wishers and the common people of West Bengal have been desirous of a branch of KISS in West Bengal. Their wishes are now on the path to be fulfilled by the initiative of the noble organization - ‘Help Us Help Them’. Thousands of underprivileged as well as poor students of West Bengal state will be able to get quality education free of cost through this interesting initiative.
