Karnataka Budget 2022 Announced New Model Universities, Free JEE, NEET Coachings

The Karnataka chief minister Basavaraj Bommai has released the Karnataka Budget 2022. In the 2022 budget, the CM has introduced and upgraded several changes related to the education sector. Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai said in his budget speech that the state will establish new model institutions in seven districts throughout the state, provide fee coachings for entrance exams like UPSC, JEE Main, NEET, etc.

Highlights of the Karnataka Budget 2022

• Firstly, the state government plans to establish Karnataka Institutes of Technology (KITs) modeled after the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs).
• The new universities will be built in Kodagu, Chamarajanagar, Haveri, Hassan, Bidar, Koppal, and Bagalkot districts.
• The remuneration for mid-day meal cooks, who are paid Rs 3,000 per month, is being boosted by Rs 1,000 as the state focuses on the "employment, education, and empowerment" of socially and economically poor populations of the state.

Now Free JEE Main, UPSC, NEET Coaching in Karnataka

Under the Mukhyamantri Vidyarthi Margadarshini scheme, the chief minister stated that the government will provide free coaching for students taking the NEET, JEE Main, UPSC, and similar exams.

The government has set aside Rs 750 crore for Dr. BR Ambedkar's hostels and Rs 165 crore for Kanakadasa Hostels. Karnataka's government has set up Rs 40,944 crore for the kid budget. It has also set aside Rs 500 crores for infrastructure improvement in government schools and Rs 100 crores for the desk, bench, and other furniture purchases in government high schools and pre-university colleges.
