The University Grants Commission (UGC) recently launched ‘Paramarsh’ scheme under which, the colleges which have good NAAC Rankings will mentor the NAAC aspirants. Currently, for the quality up-gradation process, 18 Colleges and Institutes from Karnataka have been selected as mentors.
In this process, most of the colleges that are chosen belong from the capital city of Bengaluru. Most of the Colleges in Bengaluru have a good reputation in terms of academic. So, no wonder that most of the colleges that are selected as Mentors in Karnataka are from Bengaluru.
The colleges selected as Bengaluru as mentor Institutes are, Government Science College , BMS College for Women , St. Joseph’s College of Commerce, St. Joseph’s College, Mount Carmel College , and Indian Academy Degree College .
Other colleges selected from different districts of Karnataka as mentor institutes include J.G. College of Commerce, Hubli ; Sri Venkataramanaswamy College, Bantwal ; Sri Dharmasthala Manjunatheswara College, Hubli; St. Agnes College, Mangalore ; Kottureshwar College, Kottur ; St. Aloysius College, Mangalore ; Basaveshwar Engineering College, Bagalkot ; Bldea Commerce BHS Arts & TGP Science College, Jamakhandi and J.S.S. College for Women, Mysore .

This will help the colleges and institutes aspiring for NAAC accreditation to work on their weak areas such as infrastructure, curriculum, quality education. This initiative will also improve the overall quality of education in the state. The mentorship from these institutes will also help them to find the weak areas and improve the same.
