According to the reports, the Karnataka UG and PG examinations are likely to be held in the first week of June 2020. Deputy Chief Minister CN Ashwath Narayan took the decision and informed that a system cannot function without a tentative date. The Vice-Chancellors of the varsities are given the time to come up with a confirmed date to conduct Karnataka UG and PG examinations 2020.
Apart from UG and PG exams, the state government has also advised the universities to skip the practical tests due to the Coronavirus outbreak which has resulted in nationwide lockdown. The students should be given grades on the basis of their cumulative performance.
During the meeting, the Chief Minister also informed that the virtual classes are the need of the hour. The universities are yet to take a decision on whether if more online classes are required or the exams should be conducted directly.
The government has extended the lockdown till 3rd May 2020 and all the educational institutes will remain shut till then. All the national level entrance exams, board exams, and recruitment exams have been cancelled due to the Pandemic. The revised dates will be issued once the situation is stable. Amid rumours and fake news going around that Karnataka SSLC Exams 2020 has been cancelled, S Suresh Kumar, Karnataka Primary Education Minister has reported the news as fake and informed that the class 10 board exam has not been cancelled. The fresh dates will be issued soon.
